You don't have to take the nosecap off to remove the forend.
The A^F stamp has been discussed a number of times and the general opinion is that it stands for Air Force. The other possibility is...
I have a picture of one somewhere. I think they look terrible.
But dare not speak out on the forum where this nonsense was written. Only a few are allowed to oppose there otherwise you are just a a bad mannered troll.
Not so easy to machine out without the correct reamer and if you pick one up already reamed it may not necessarily fit your barrel well. Nothing worse than wasting your money on an item that may not...
That is one very interesting rifle.
Give me the page number please.
There's still plenty of heavy barrels around in Australia and I've come across quite a few still sealed and wrapped just in the last 6 months. You just have to pay big money to get them in most cases.
Is that right 5th. I'll have a look for that.
That is interesting.
I can't see the serial number in any of those photo's but I believe pablo is right.
Looks normal to me.
Nice gun limpetmine. Is the butt a short or long length by any chance.
Not sure of the other states but presently in Queensland a deactivated catagory B firearm is not required to be registered on a firearms licence.
For the record, the DP'd rifle pictured in my...
Got no idea.
Any suggestions where it was done. I recall about 30 others in the batch with this one.

They must have DP'd this one because it had a big hole and a saw cut in the barrel.
Shame because it's a matching 1935 lithgow.
No he's not in Brisbane.
Here's a little 53 group shot.
Ned that's what this bloke does. He breaks up good rifles all the time to sell off the parts. I only new about this one because a mate was bidding on some 50's dated parts so out of curiosity I...
Great job. You are a true craftsmen.
This rifle was dismantled to the last screw to be listed on ebay. In fact some of it was. After initially winning some auctions and 6 months of haggling with this fool as well as waiting for...
True, but in some cases it's not even sensible in the monetary sense. He would have got better money for a 1953 lithgow in one piece. Shortly after he busted up a matching 1921 lithgow that was in...
Jim,
They are the last of SMLE production in Lithgow. They assembled 1000 rifles from 1953 to 56. The actions are dated 53.
No he's in North Queensland and his descriptions are done up in lots of colors.

I can't see how he can...
In fact the butt hasn't had a bid yet. No wonder starting the bids at 150.
One individual is breaking up perfectly good and in some cases quite rare Enfields. I recently had to win every part...
