The first roadrun/morning PT might make you reconsider...
Looks like a coating of preservative too, should come clean. Nice trade.
They don't seem to have a static line retrieval system...a tough haul on the deployment bags. The one little girl getting JM check at the nosedock would hang for a half hour under canopy, have to...
I don't think so, if it were in the white it would rust with the fingerprints, mine would anyway. I still think it's chrome that hasn't been cared for, it'll rust like that too. Look at car...
That might be pretty good too...
Nice rifle, I love the big ones like that, they shoot so mildly and accurately.
Got to say, even back then the 14.5" barrel carbine was my favorite.
I think the bore just needs copper out and a newish bore brush. Lots of elbow grease...I'd love to see the actual shade of the bore though. I'll bet there's nothing wrong. The pic of the crown...
Long past now.
Perfect, so much easier than trying to cobble one up. How about pics of the whole carbine now?
Good question, usually all you get is a mottled discolored mess.
I've had a smaller version for decades now and used it lots. Ours were similar for field use, just a bit different. One pot with a frying pan lid. We had several different stoves in use at one...
I understand...too bad. When we needed to, we'd sift ours with a fine strainer to get the most chunks out but there'd be nothing better than a fresh bag of glass beads in a clean cabinet.
Honestly, if a glass bead blaster was available with silica glass beads you could clean the inside of both those easy. Clips and mags...
Love to see some pics though. If it's dressed like a carbine and falls in the middle of a vast sea of rifle numbers...we should at least have a look?
Didn't want to get it wet.
Quite a read though... Battle of Hollandia - Wikipedia
Yes, I did those also. My first driver's papers too. I didn't want to be a driver, they never got away from it. I wanted to stay in the line. I managed to stay away from driver wheeled until I...
Don't know where you got that, I owned three from all three eras of manufacture and none of the many magazines had any oiling pads.
Looks good, pretty clean.
The seldom seen ammo carts, look at all of them...
Looks like it falls in the middle of rifles.
Jeeze...Episkopi last year...last time for me was 1980. I do look at Google earth there regularly. I also expect to go back for a visit, will make sure I notify you before going. Ledra Palace has...
There's actually an early pic from Cyprus, about 1964 that shows the LDSH patrolling either Trudos or Kyrenya mountains with the little Ferret with just the .30. We had a bolt on buttstock you may...
Looks good now. In our case, the .30 cal would be mounted. A friend of mine in Alberta spirited two away as they were brought to be range targets. Don't know if he still has them.
