Thanks Patrick. Guess I'll pass up any 8x58R Rolling Block too, I might come across. I'm not too much of a Rolling Block man, but they are cool rifles.

Thanks Patrick. Guess I'll pass up any 8x58R Rolling Block too, I might come across. I'm not too much of a Rolling Block man, but they are cool rifles.
Hmm, that seems like a bit much for me to put into. I guess I'll have to pass, but it sure was a nice looking rifle. I know that the Swedes also had a later model, in 8x85R Danish. Of course that's...
So I was in my local gun shop today, and came across one of these beautiful rifles, in the oddball, 12.7x44 cartridge. It's a very nice rifle, clean and doesn't look too used or screwed with at all,...
I have a quick question that has to do only with the accuracy and sighting of Swedish, M/96 rifle, and no others.
A friend got himself a Swede and we took it out. Of course I expected it to shoot...
Thanks, Midmichigun
It's kind of odd. In my area, there's recently been a huge outpour of Italian rifles. Just two weeks ago, at the same gun shop, they had at least 10 cavalry carbine Carcano's,...
So a couple of days ago, I discovered a 1891 Carcano, dated 1916, in pretty decent condition. The stock had been sanded, but only so lightly (and I mean lightly, no actual dings or dents were sanded...
Good to know.
I think you're looking in the wrong direction. I was just looking for the number of inspectors, and possibly their initials so I could use it for a platform to do some research...
Yeah, my mistake on the stock identification, it's not Walnut like I thought, but Copper Beech (which I didn't even know there was such thing). Also, I found on the other side of the blade sight,...
Thanks for all the information Buffdog, and Patrick, for the information. It's interesting to know that the "HA" is an inspector's initials. Does this increase the rifle's original 200 dollar range...
Yes, it is indeed HA, not SA. I've seen SA on another rifle, Mosin-Nagants, that were Finnish captures at some point which has the SA, but my Swedish Mauser has HA.
Hi again, I come baring questions that need answers.
Firstly, I've recently bought a M/96 Swedish Mauser in relatively good condition for the holidays. The bore/barrel and everything is perfect,...
Well after some thinking and rechecking, I decided to scrap getting the Mauser as well. Instead, I've invested not nearly what I probably would have in either that or the M1917, and got myself a real...
Well looking at the rifle, the majority of the bluing is still there and in good condition. Obviously from age, some of it's going to ware off (and it hasn't been re-blued at all from what I can...
That's interesting to know. The one I'm currently looking at, has no grime or anything like that whatsoever on the stock, and the metal on it is very nice. It even has the Chilean Crest on the...
Thanks for the info Aragorn243, I'm not so sure that I could whittle the price down to $300 for either rifle, but if your rifles are as in good of a condition as the Chilean Mauser I'm looking at,...
Hahaha I would love to get both! But, with both of them at $670+ USD each, and my limit being $1,000 USD, I'm afraid I can't. If only I had another three zeros at the end of that thousand, I would be...
Thanks again Patrick, for all the helpful information. I guess now all I have to do, is look into which one I truly want to get! :)
So the Eagle's Head/25 underneath it, had nothing to do with Springfield Armory, but had to do with Eddystone? That's good to hear, now I won't seem like such an idiot at the shop when I go back to...
Hello, recently I've been looking into a very nicely finished (hardly sanded down from what I can tell/feel,) M1917 Rifle. It's even got the original barrel, marked 1918, and is in great...
Hi everyone, I just signed up to ask some questions that I haven't been able to find any coherent or valuable answers, on the M1895 Chilean Mauser. Or I just need more reiterating on them.
