Yes, it does look like Duracote or some such.
I have a mid WW2 Springfield made barrel and on the underside of the rear sight collar is stamped "PPS". Is this a manufacturer's marking or something else, post war maybe ?
Wasnt the STG45M roller delayed and not relying on a piston ?
Yes, headspace needs to be checked when rebarreling.
I've seen several others done in the exact same way which tells me they were modified by the importers in the 50s or 60s.
If you're wanting a replacement stock, I would suggest you contact Minelli there in Italy. I have read some good things about their stocks but have no personal experience with them.
Yeah, aggravating, isnt it ?
There's a little up and down arrow over on the right side of that page. Just click on it for down. That will make it go away on each visit.
Well put, Dick. I always thought there was something shady about his site.
Have you looked at any of the Durakote finishes. They have several black shades.
Yes, I figured that. Just wondering on some aspects such as EAL or LB receiver/parts.
Just saw one at the local museum. Evidently a past local rancher carried it back when.
The frame looked a bit smaller than a Colt Navy. Is that true or just my figuring ?
After reading the thread on EAL rifles, I saw a rifle for the Canadian mapping crews mentioned. I cant find any pics online so could someone possibly edumacate me on this variation ? I find this a...
I cant remember, what is removed first when removing the wood.....forearm or butt ?
I saw him on one of those staged episodes of Pawn Stars a couple of years back.
Sorry to hear of his passing.
It's no better at their store counter.
I agree concerning the Sarco mags. They appear to be the SA made ones.
I saw that discussion over at the other forum too. And that guy is a mod there ?
Seen too much bogus crap over there and I gave up on that place.
New made correct mags (not the sharp cornered ones) from SA are being sold by a company in Canada. I think these are the ones Sarco is selling for $30.

I have seen different safeties for the #4 so I would like to know which one would be correct for the #4 mk2.
Thanks Peter. My conundrum is that some bubba cut the cone just in front of the sight, leaving almost an inch of exposed barrel. I would like to try to save the sight itself. Heat would not be an...
Could someone point me to a thread here about how to get the front sight/flash hider off my #5.
The pins are out but that is one tough bugger to try to get off.
I need to remove the front sight/flash hider on my #5 but I cant remember from what side the pins should be driven from.
Does anyone have this info ?
I meant P14s.
