I own and use a number of military 303 rifles, and recently purchased a P14 (Remington) which despite its furniture looking like it had been dragged along a gravel road, the steel and particularly...
I know this thread is on a different road but I just wanted to contribute by discussing the accuracy of these old timer rifles. I purchased mine 12 months ago and it had the original furniture, no...
. Excuse my ignorance, but I am not sure what you mean by stock pin against the band. I am happy to add photos of this if you can provide me with further information.
Thanks Jim. I forgot to add photos of the bolt. There appears to be an overstamp on the bolt serial number for the last two of the four digits or they hit it harder with the punch? the 1st 2 digits...
Some more pics.
Sorry I never thought to seek this information on oilers on Milsurps. My photos of this rifle were removed I believe. I assume this is to free up space. Anyway I have attached further photos. This is...
Sorry to re-hash an old thread but I am now chasing a 'period' oil bottle for this rifle and I just removed the one in it to discover it is what I believe to be a later Lithgow as it has the letters...
From the research I have done, and I am only an amateur, there were numerous manufacturers of holsters and this was common practise . Please correct me if I am mistaken.
With some assistance from another forum (War relics forum) I managed to identify the maker of this holster as 'Rich.Haenel Dresden 1915' so please disregard trying to decipher this for me. I now need...
I am trying to identify the manufacturer of the listed holster. If you look closely, the maker appears in the background to the military markings including the date of 1915 as opposed to the military...
Thanks Jim. You're research to locate these sites is much appreciated. Sorry for the inconvenience as I should have looked harder.
I have a large aluminium military trunk which I believe they call a foot locker. It has a removeable aluminium shelf inside and is olive drab with plastic coated webbing straps. I am unable to...
Are the genuine (no reproduction) L42A1 7.62 magazines relatively rare to locate and therefore command a high price? One is currently for sale in Australia and is asking $400 (Australian) which...
Can anyone please identify this chest bandoleer. Has 11 seperate pouches and I believe is of military origin probably chinese. Pouches are not very large and would losely house a 20 round M1 carbine...
Hey guys check out the new scope mount on the marketplace called a 'Wartac'. Just Google it. No drill and the only disadvantage I can see is that you can't use stripper clips to refurb your mag.
I enjoy using both my BSA (1908) and Lithgow (1915) rifles to shoot targets. I refuse to use military ammo in my rifles, so I enjoy pulling the 174gn military projectiles out of old loaded military...
I guess I thought and mabey misguided that the BSA apeture sight was used as an early sniper sight (see attached). One can only have an opinion on anything based on what we read! These sights are...
See attached photos of bolt. The period BSA target appature sight (see photo) I understand is rare, especially in this country. The removal of the original volley sight to attached the target sight...
I should have mentioned that I attached a period BSA appeture sight to this gun shortly after taking ownership.
Attached more photos. Still eager to know what the 1610 stamped on the receiver and stock stands for?
I have just purchased a BSA No 1 Mk 111 dated 1908. I have been advised that this gun spent most iof its life as a wall hanger at a local boarding school. Gun is all over in mint unmolested factory...
Ok sounds like I am getting closer to what this gun is, and appears to be a Spanish conversion but when I google this, they don't seem to gave the bolt cut out in the stock (see photo)
Just spent the last hour trying to find some information on the rifle I have just purchased. I know absolutely nothing about K98 Mausers. This one has been converted to 7.62 and appears to be...
Okey it now fits but I wouldn't call it rock solid stable? Is the attaching 'dumbel' spring (I think that is the term used) suppose to be thicker and specially made for these sights to limit the...
Ok, sounds like I had the sight wound down allthe way wheras it appears it needs to be wound up to fit properly. Anyway thats for your advice, I will go and give it another try.
