Have not seen that before.
Bolt assembly does not match receiver number.
No safety on this one. Has a half cock position.

I picked up this BSA rifle some time ago, dated 1900, or so it appears.
Missing the dust cover, probably from when it was converted to .22.
Have thought it may have been a Lee-Metford before...
As to part 2 of your original post; In another thread I had asked basically the same question and was recommended the Woodleigh bullet. 174 Gr, flat based, but not quite a spire point. Not too hard...
Righto, it was Taipan that is no longer. The Woodleighs were not all that unreasonable. The Woodleighs ran $33.49 US for 50. I ordered 100, which should last me for this season and into next. Thanks,...
Aussie,
I just ordered 100 of the Woodleigh bullets from a US retailer. The protected point is a new twist for me. The item sounds about as close as I am going to find these days. Read some posts...
Buntline,
I have some of the 174 Gn RN projectiles, and plan to use them later. Also loaded some 180 Gn spire flat base a while back. Don't want to sound anal about it, but will persist in my...
Mainly for target shooting. Not planning on hunting with a .303, although I did years ago. My understanding is that the spire point, flat bottom 174 projectile was a component of the mark II...
Hello, It has been a while.
Some time ago I bought .303 brass from several different vendors, probably have about 250-300 cases now. I have some 174 grain round nose projectiles, and a very small...
How much of a "Lee Enfield" remains? Most of it's length appears to result from Midway parts in a blender.
How much do you SHOOT your Lee Enfield
It has probably been 5 or 6 years since I shot one of my .303s. Working on some more reloads, and hope to be somewhat methodical in identifying and...
You place your chin on the comb of the stock with the pad over your adam's apple. Swallow and squeeze.
And I'm not exactly British - more like generic -American. And can relate 100% !
Motivation is preservation / appreciation of something historic, and a minor key of monetary value.

Lasik in 1999. Near sightedness eliminated. Reading glasses needed after lasik, but was getting to that point before.
Right eye a little weak for distance now, 10 years later. Just passed the...
The prize. I am assuming that is the proverbial "gong".
Ver' Nice.
Something about the No 4 Mk 1, when done up in a walnut stock. Ahhhh.
No 1 Mk 3 too.
Aww hell, just about any...
From other threads this headspace maxim was becoming apparent, and Captain Laidler's emphasis in this thread seals it.
I ordered the Okie gauges a while back, and was shocked, SHOCKED, when my...
Spoke to Brian recently myself, and enjoyed doing so.
Looks like a GOOD first rifle. My first Enfield was a No4 Mk2 made at Fazakerley and imported by Interarms of Alexandria, VA. Yours appears to...
I was just kidding about the M1A shooters, but they do consistently complain about 7.62 costs, and go through it like mad practicing for those matches.
.303 more expensive than 7.62. ? Yeah,...
JM,
You have summed it up very well. I want to ideally have a few lightly used SMLEs to shoot for accuracy, and the 'experience'.
And I would like to have a few real-deal been...
That is a tough decision. How can you not shoot a good SMLE ? But I would like to concentrate on having a few bona-fide battle rifles, as in, they been in some battles.
RJW,
Well, I am not sure that the Jovino rifle could not be accurized, stock to barrel tweaks could be all that is needed.
The rifle came with what I discovered later is a "dark military...
