Sorry. I thought someone here might be a member. I don't feel comfortable posting somebody elses images though.
There is a nice example on another forum that I am interested in. Definitely not a war time rifle but a very nice K98 none the less.
I am not familiar with the prices on the post occupation rifles...
Here are the pics.

I will get some pics up. My park finish is greenish. It does not appear to be a new park job however.
Tradeex recently had 20 or so very nice M1 Garands that sold very fast for $2195 (Canadian) a pop.
Many had WWII actions with WWII barrels rated as very good. Some had painted rack numbers and the...
Thanks for the replies. When I removed the handguard the lock bottoms out at 6 oclock. and I can see the gas port.
This new wood is beautiful so I will take my time to adjust the clearance as needed.
That would look right at home on my 1944.
Very nice!
I have to find one with that GAW stamp.
I recently bought my first M1 Garands after wanting one for a very long time. One is an SA July 1944 receiver with an excellent SA June 1944 barrel. All SA parts except for the HR op rod. The stock...
I see nothing wrong with an honest seller telling people exactly what they have for sale.
I also think that shooter grade rifles are a good buy. I am going to buy a shooter grade RC or a rebuilt. I...
Thanks for the replies.
I have now decided I will just browse. Maybe buy an honest RC if I see one.
These rifles are getting expensive and it's a buyer beware market. And I am far from an expert....
Last fall. I bought my 1st all matching K98 off a seller on gunnutz. He bought the rifle from badger and the rifle is well vetted and authentic. So I am confident that I now own a 1944 DOT K98K. I...
I kinda figured that.
Makes me think that the ones for sale privately may fit your description and the owners just want to unload them. But then again, lots of guys would never do such a thing....
I have recently decided to add some K98's to my horde. I have a nice original dot 44 coming and I want to buy a shooter RC K98.
The RC seems to be good value but the markings are...
No kidding!
Each of my rifles has its own bag of brass.
What a great thread. And I totally agree with the head space obsession.
The first thing I was told when I bought an Enfield was "better check the headspace!".
I was also told that I wouldn't have...
I ride as well. A few years back I rode my GS1150 Adventure from my home near Regina Saskatchewan to the Beaufort Sea at Dead Horse Alaska. My worst crash was on a bicycle however. I got caught up in...
I just did a few swipes to smooth it out. I was wondering if it would tighten up even further in a week.
I still can't believe a simple application of oil brought the woodwork back into spec.
What...
That's a great idea. And a lot cleaner than how I've been doing this.

It must be the sun and my cell...
Will do. I am going to give my other rifles a treatment as well.
And thanks to everyone for the advice.
The linseed oil did indeed bring the wood closer to where it should be. It was so close that I took some light sandpaper and gave the wood a few swipes where it meets the knox of the barrel. I hate...
I threw the paper towels in the garbage can, but I guess I don't want that going up in flames!
I'm going to give this a last treatment tonight and then see if it fits better tomorrow. If it doesn't...
That's a good idea. The wood seems pretty dry again tonight. I slathered the oil on heavy and I wait about 45 minutes and wipe all the excess off.
I may soak this thing good on the weekend if there...
Just the pic. The seller unwrapped it from new. And with the grease still present under the front sight guard and along side the receiver and in the mag well, I don't believe he ever had it apart. ...
Lots of info here, thank CINDERS. Hopefully the linseed oil helps out.
I applied the first coat using my hands. The wood on the inside sucked it all up immediately and I had to put on 2 more coats...
Lots of info. I have my Linseed oil and when I get home tonight I will run a piece of paper under the barrel. And check it beforehand to see if the muzzle is hitting the top hand guard.
Hopefully...
