I have an early model SAI with all USGI parts...except the receiver of course. I've been very happy with it.

However, if I was to get one today...I would lean towards having Fulton Armory build...

For serious shooting...local competition matches, etc. - I recommend the following: Federal American Eagle #AE3006M1. It's made to shoot in the M1 Garand.

I also suggest shooting it open sights. I have a SA Scope for mine...installed it once and shot it a couple times. Really more fun to shoot with open sights....IMO.
