Always enjoy seeing that movie.
Very nice video. Did not know how many steps it took to make a German Helmet.
Great picture, thanks for sharing.
Japanese type 30 Bayonet serial numbers were not matched to serial numbers of Japanese rifles.
Looks like you have a fine shooting Mosin there. I also lately started reloading for my Mosin/Nagant, but yet have tried any reloads at the range yet.
The folks at Dunham's in my area told me they don't know what 91/30 types will come in. Just that they are getting a shipment of a certain quantity. They've seen both round and hex receivers M38...
The title for your post says it all. To many get caught up in bidding and spend way more than items are worth.:bash:
Thanks for posting.
Getting a Mosin Nagant 91-30 for $80.00 is not uncommon. My brother just purchased one at a local shop for that price. All matching with prewar stock.
I was at Atlanta Cutlery's Warehouse and picked out a Gehendra which still had it's original sling attached. It cleaned up nice along with the rifle.
The Warehouse is amazing to visit as there are...
I noticed only pistols until they got to their weapons containers. I thought one officer was however, carrying a sword. I don't think I seen a Paratrooper type 99 at all. I'll have to watch it again.
Aimsurplus has been selling 7.63 X54R for $11.50 for a box of 20 loaded PRVI ammunition. I bought 10 boxes from them awhile back. I see they are out of stock also now. However, its worth watching...
Thanks for posting the photo.
There is a Japanese Airborne Forces training film I found on "Youtube" the other day.
Here is the link, if some members have not seen it yet.

I have three boxes of Hornady ammunition for this caliber.
One box of my Hornady the cases are PRVI brass and it states 6.5 X 51 Japanese on the case stamp.
The other two boxes of Hornady...
Ah a new adventure at the range.:super: Shooting the Mosin-Nagant with the bayonet, never tried that before will be interesting to see how it does with it attached.
Very interesting video.
I never heard that song before. I've heard of it but not the music or words.
Thanks for posting it.
Just watched the video. Cool stuff thanks for sharing.
I have my dads old Smith and Wesson revolver chambered for the 38 SW. After seeing this thread I looked at how much ammo I had and less than 150 rounds. I think I need to also look for set of dies...
Great improvement from the first Photos:thup:
I use a 50/50 mix of ammonia and water at the range and finish up normally at home with Hoope's #9. Thats been working well for some time now for my Mosin-Nagant.
Just bought a Polish Wz-48 trainer in 22 long rifle last week. I've only been able to get to the range once since I bought it. Federal express ammunition gave me about a 3 inch group with ten rounds...
A good book I found about the battle of Maiwand and the roll the Burkshire regiment had at that battle is Into the Jaws of Death by Lieutenant Colonel Mike Snook.
I think you will enjoy your Mosin Nagant very much. Congratulations on a fine purchase.
I agree sometimes stripping an old stock is all you can do.
Thats good to hear that they are getting there production back up and running.
