Also, remember the Enfield rifling in the barrel may favor 165+ grain bullets. My M1917 shoots M2 Ball (150 grn) just fine, but others have noted 168 and 180 grain bullets shoot better than the...

You can force some epoxy into the crack and compress it with surgical tubing wrapped around the wrist. Then you'll be good as new...

Just out of curiosity, what S/N range is this particular item? I have an Eddystone S/N 1251XXX that has very similar stamps as yours, but also has Canadian acceptance stamps as well....

You can't put pack wood you take off. I usually just hit it w/ 0000 steel wool to smooth it down.

It was up for 3 seconds, then went back down.....

The Muzzle Wear gauge is the same, but the Garand Throat Wear gauge doesn't work. You can use a M1903 throat gauge on the M1917.

I had CAI s/n 000357. I fired it once, it didn't go thru a full clip w/o failing in some manner. Got a CMP Woodless Garand and used the parts from the CAI to retrofit the woodless and never had a...
Cool! I'll add it to my list. Thanks!
Mike D
I'll add those S/N's to the Garand S/N list I'm working on at the CMP forums. What was the S/N on the heel of that Garand in the middle of your pictures, looks like 218X322, can't make out the middle...
Why don't you use it to shoot in a service rifle match? You'd be competing against AR-15's, M1 Garands, and occasional M1903 Springfield and/or M1917 Enfield. Get your feet wet, see how well your...
Buy the barrel, everything else can be fixed later.......

I have a Century Int'l import that has been reblued after the stamp was applied. Whether Century did it or someone afterwards is open to conjecture.
Mike D
Barrel is too late for the receiver, but I think you knew that already. At least your CAI hasn't been re-blued. Mine has been, either by CAI or that last owner. You taking yours to the next CMP match...
Very sharp!
Mike D
It should have an "E" at the tip, but the finger guard cuts and the relief around the bolt handle do not look like an Eddystone stock. Any photos of the stock tip?
Mike D
Stock doesn't look Eddystone though, Winchester or Remington perhaps?
Mike D
Maybe S/N was scrubbed because it's a re-weld?
Mike D
Pleeeeeeze tell me if the cheek-pad helped with your scope alignment. ;)
Mike D
Square notched receiver track....early SA or Winchester. Aussies and their Enfields. Cool.
Mike D
Weren't British tanks painted like that on the nose?
Mike D
How well did the leather check-rest help with getting you lined up with the scope?
Mike D
Dang! I like that setup! I've got a spare Leopold hanging around here. I might have to get me an S&K mount. Please let me know how well the leather cheekpiece help with the cheek-weld when you get...
Just out of curiosity, what's the s/n of your 12/1943 rifle? Mine is 2264XXX. Just wondering if yours is close to mine.
Mike D
Nice rifle. Looks new.
