Outstanding, one of the Quantico rifles! Tell us more.
Dave
That's right. It's really just a muzzle brake that has smaller holes on the top and larger toward the bottom sides.
Here are a few pictures of one.

That is a Stabilizer Assembly. It slides over the flash hider and clamps on behind the bayonet lug.

Here is another that I saved from a post a few years ago.

Here is the post that went with it:
M-14 SNIPER RIFLE 1969 VIETNAM...
Nice picture. That is one of my favorite configurations: M84 scope, G&H M1C mount and a bracket developed by the Army Weapons Command. I set one up that way for grins.

Wow, that would make you reflect on things...
Interesting picture. Other reports and opinions aside, the picture speaks for itself regarding the use of flash hiders..... at least in this one case.
Mark, was there any further info or caption...

Great picture. I recognized that background as Venafro, I have a picture of my Dad there in late November 1943.
I had a chance to visit Venafro a couple years ago. I walked...
I like the grenade hanging on the eye-bolt on the passenger side, right under the M1.

You'd think he would show pictures of both rifles.

Hi Bob:
I was going to connect you to the same forum that GUTS gave you for more reading material. That forum does not allow discussion of values, so it is just for general info.
Devine M1A -...
I've collected them for years. The values will vary, but generally the SVT38's will run $2500 and up. The 1939 dated rifles will bring more than 1940 and the Ishevesk rifles will bring more than...
Mike, Nick's book is indeed a good one.
Here is a picture of what the original finish actually looks like on a Winchester is that serial range. Notice how the blue has an almost translucent...
Chris:
I was contacted by a guy who saw a post of mine on another forum. He was helping the wife of a long time friend who had passed on deal with the rifles in his estate. One was a H&R Model 65...
I hate to keep harping on this, but oldguns.net continues to list M1917's that are questionable at best. Anyone who buys from them should use extreme caution.
Here are the latest:

Are any of you familiar with the Schultz & Larsen M88? I've seen a couple references to them on-line and apparently there were only about 300 made and less than 30 brought into the US.
It seems...
I guess it will depend on the prices the CMP sets and the number of each condition they have. They usually price things to sell. The sale of 1100 or so M1C's will probably bring the going price for...

Here you go. I scanned the pages I had in my file that describe the grades and cost.

I'm glad Nina was able to help date yours. She is a little off on her recollection of the dates though. I had an order in for a standard M1 in August 1998 when they announced the new grading, so I...
They introduced the "graded rifle program" in August 1998. The Service Grade, Select Grade and Collector Grade were available starting at that time.
The early certificates of authenticity did not...
Nice rifle. If I'm understanding you though, the serial number is just close to the other USMC rilfes in the SRS and is not actually listed.

I would recommend that you and your wife (since she will be a user) find a shooting range that rents pistols. That way you can handle and shoot the pistols you are considering before buying them....
Thanks, Tom. I'll try to post some this weekend.
