I would suggest doing some of this.....
Collecting and Shooting the Enfield No. 5 - Rifle Disassembly/Reassembly
I removed my No5 from the stock but I didn't go crazy dissembling much more.
Badger, that's a really nice BSA the Mrs. has... In picture 24, why does it look like the "blow hole" is elongated?
Thank you for the info.... I have a No5 that has similar proofs (BNP). I didn't know it meant it was sold commercially in the UK. I thought it was part of the pre-68 import marks.
The marker disk on the BSA is a repro from IMA-US. The one on the Enfield is blank. What's the 273 for?

My new 1918 Enfield No1 Mk3*. I've had a 1915 BSA No1 Mk3* but the Enfield has a lot more markings than the BSA.
Here's the two of them... The Enfield is on top....
Numrich is a good source for parts for this too.....

I brought home the No1 MkIII* today. It's nice! The stock is heavily marked compared to my BSA... This No1 is an Enfield BTW. I'm hoping to get some pictures up tonight.
Too late.... I slipped off the wagon again last night. I won the GB auction for the Savage I was stalking.
I knew I had a problem when I'd do a search for Enfield and I had to start on the...
I picture might help.
Thanks Badger. I did check out the No4 Savages in the Knowledge Library. This is a great resource.
I found a No4 Savage made on GunBroker that I'm interested in. It's all matching numbers including the magazine.... The stock is in typical used shape with dings and dangs here and there. My question...
Guys, this is really bad.... I'm looking to replace my Faz No4 Mk2 with a Savage No4 Mk1 and I just picked up my first No5. Of course, the idea of buying the new smelly is to replace my 1915 BSA. The...
BSA and Enfield were still making them in 1918.....

Thanks Brad. The 1915 is 77153 and the 1918 is N2115.
The I didn't intend to get another No1 MkIII but the price was right. I got it on GunBroker and probably won't take possession until next week at the earliest. It's supposed to be a matching number...
Is that painted like a rack number or stamped into the wood?
Where would the NZ be marked?
I've seen some No5 rifles that were FMP marked that had the disc too.
I'm looking at buying a No4 Mk1 or Mk1* Savage. I found one on Gun Broker that has the brass ID disk in the stock. Is this correct? Is it the wrong butt stock?
The same rifle also has the...
I recently acquired my first P14 and I have a question. The rifle is dated 1917 and Weedon proofed so I'm sure it's seen time in WWII. It was common that the stocks were changed. Under the barrel of...
Boy, FNR is like an itch you can't scratch... I've seen No1 rifles marked NRF for National Rifle Factory - No1 rifles that were assembled from parts from various manufacturers.
And the No5....
She's a BSA 1945. All matching but the magazine and the upper handgard.

M47 is the designation for BSA...
All right!!!! Picture time.... Get comfy...
Let's start off with the newest addiction, uh, I mean addition.....
So far the only thing I added is the piling swivel. That's the nice thing about...
Especially when it says "I'm a really nice P14 with Weedon Proofs and you'll kick yourself in the butt for a very long time if you pass me up..."
Maybe I should have read that section on mental...
In about 10 minutes I'm taking my lunch to drive to a local gun shop to pay off the last of two layaways. I was paying on my No5 up until about 3 weeks ago and today I'm bringing home my P14....
