Hello all,
I recently got to shoot my Ross Model E factory sporter, and I noticed the brass had expanded quite a bit. I understood that this is normal for .303 Ross chambers, but I noticed the...
The carbine buttplate is different than the SMLE, I can provide pictures when I get home later tonight!
That's mad haha.
I'm currently restoring a LEC MK1 from a sporter. Luckily, none of the original parts except for the wood was ****ed with, of course this includes the forend hardware. Luckily,...
Does it have a Ross front post?
Definetally needs oil. RLO is ideal, and original for Enfields. I don't even know how one would repair a split like that, but I suppose it's possible
Almost all Lee-Enfields will have the bolt lift when dry firing, however this does not happen when firing (provided the bolt is fitted correctly)
They were re-introduced in between wars
The slot in the screw should line up with the indentation, if all of the parts are matching of course.
Finally got the forend off, it was stupid tight.

Hello!
Just wanted to share the LEC sporters I got in today, I plan on rebuilding the rifle with a stock set from Ross Rifle Restoration.
Just wanted to ask, as the butt socket has been...
I am leaving it to a gunsmith at this point. I have soaked the threads with penetration oil, and I have tried giving the barrel up between 2 wooden blocks with the proper diameter hole, but without...
Hi Surpmil,
I almost completely agree with what you said. I usually air on the side of "don't fix what doesn't need fixing". However, as the locking screw and it's hole in the action is really...
Hi,
I want to remove the barrel because, well, it should be able to be removed. If it is frozen because of rust, I would like to get it apart so I can remove that rust.

Hello!
I just got my Ross Model R from the auction house, and I love it, action is butter smooth, bore is good, and the gun is very handy.
The problem I'm facing is removing the barrel, I...
I understand that, but I want the gun set up by the book. I don't want any chance of the wood warping due to my fitting.
When the wood was set up horribly, the gun shot 2MOA with undeveloped...
Thanks for the reply 30Three,
I think cause I have the trashed sporter forend lying around I will give a few different methods a shot with that before I mess with the main forend.
I like this...
Thanks for the reply 30Three
Since this gun was originally set up very wrong, the forend tightness came from the rear of the forend tightly fitting against the butt socket, not the draws, which...
I appreciate the response oz,
My wood is original, unissued Lithgow wood, given to me by an Enfield enthusiast.
One thing in your post concerns me, you say the barrel should only touch the wood...
Sorry, I am getting used to this forum, I did not receive any email notifications from this thread so I assumed I put it in the wrong section of the forum.

I appreciate the quick response Jim,
I am a dolt, didn't think of assembling out of the wood... bears the same... should this be remedied with a new guard or is it a non-problem?

Hello all,
Over the past 3 years I have been working on my SMLE No.1 Mk.III* desporterization project, 2 years ago the rifle was complete but improperly fit, over the past 2 years I have been...
Hello all,
I recently purchased myself a swiss G1911, and I love it. The gun is beautiful, and very accurate. However, I am concerned about how I can keep this rifle in original military fit &...
It is off center before the cap is installed.
Here is the pic of the off center barrel.
Hello all, I have dang near got my SMLE back to mil spec, but I am having issues getting the barrel to center in the forend.
I have ensured there is no wood pressing the side of the reciever, and...
