    Early 1954 HRA T-48 magazine

Photo show a survivor of the 1954 T-48 trials with a HRA marked 20rd magazine with a newer magazine for comparison. While this HRA magazine is not in the best condition, it appears everything works. Years ago I co-authored an article for one of the Gun Digest books concerning the HRA T-48 and High Standard T48 test rifles. I could never determine if the High Standard used the FN or HRA magazine or their own produced magazine ?

I had a T48 in the military collection when I was in Camp Gagetown NB. What a neat rifle, if I remember correctly it was serially near the end of the production numbers. I have no idea where it ended up...after I left.

Jim, can you remember if your FAL was stamped T-48 ?

HRA used T-48, High Standard used T48 and FN used T.48

I simply don't. I just remember looking things up at the time and finding it was very close to the last ones made. And, it had survived somehow to live in the R22er regimental museum lockup for decades. It arrived without a breech block so I used a current FN C1A1 breechblock and it worked perfectly.
