Some very interesting items at Bud Haynes this weekend including a 4T, a Cno7, an Envoy, and a host of others. The above quote is from the poster for the sale, the actual listing http://www.budhaynesauctions.com/auc.../catalogue.pdf
has a lot more. There is a single shot Bren gun (still a converted auto unfortunately), a chinese Inglis hipower, and a mk1 Webley revolver.
So many guns...so little money. I have made the road trip before to go to Bud's auctions, but this sale is way too tempting. I had best stay away.
Bud charges a buyers premium on top of the sale price, and of course there is the GST. At least Alberta has no sales tax, so some of the sting is taken off.

The rumour mill says the "South African Prototype" sold for $3500, is that correct?
Bubba wins this round then.

Re: Bud Haynes Auction 27 Oct.
SA prototype did go to an absentee bidder for $3500. Claimed he was willing to go to $5000.
No 4 Mk I T went for $1400, mismatched scope and bolt, no can for the scope. Thinking that's still pretty cheap, but didn't have the nerve.

Why on earth did it go that cheap? The scope and bracket alone are worth over $2000. Was the rifle that bad?
Mismatched bolt is unfortunate but just the scope...not to mention the No 15 chest...someone got a deal.

The prices will get posted on Bud's website in the next day or two. By what was posted over on gunnutz, it sounds like some good deals, even with the buyers comission and GST.
Be interesting to see prices on things like the Cno7, the Bren, and others.

$1150. There was an odd looking X on the left of the receiver.

Hmmmm.... interesting...
With that "X", I wonder if it was an "all matching" RC or some other forced re-matched capture rifle?
Any electro-pencil markings?
