Pocket Knife Research Sites ?
Hi All,
I've dug into the first locker that belonged to my Father that holds hundreds of pocket knives. Possibly 450 to 500 of them in each locker. Mostly pen and jack knife stye pocket knives.
Trying to research them for future sale or auctions.
In this locker the 75 to 80 Case XX knives I was able to find the number codes on the blades and was able to ID the proper name, blade and handle material from a on line source.
Without having to go out and buy all the books about these,
Might anyone be able to direct me to a on line source for ID purposes to many of the makers?
Way to many makers to list, but here are some of the most common.....
German
, British
, Swiss
, and US made versions... like KEEN KUTTER, BOKER, WINCHESTER, KA-BAR, IMPERIAL, SCHRADE, OLD TIMER, BUCK, BULLDOG, CAMILLUS, WOSTENHOLM I-XL and I*XL, WARRISS, SXM, ROBIKLAAS, UNITED, FROST CUTLERY, SHAPLEIGH, RIGID, .......ETC, ETC.
Peanut, Whittlers, Small Cigar, Canoes.......... ETC.
Any Greatly Appreciated as this is the first of 3 such cases,

Charlie, it seems your dad was a collector too!
I hope you get some feedback for on-line ID. I don't have any knowledge of makers, etc, but I know some old pocket knives have a collectible world of their own.
I was selling a WWII M1
helmet on eBay a couple of years ago and checked the auctions the high bidder had won out of curiosity. He obviously had a lot of free cash and he had won many auctions for pocket knives that he paid 100's of dollars for. They just looked like regular pocket knives to me.
Have you tried putting some info from what you get from blades into an eBay search? (Just a shot in the dark trying to help)
