many thanks to all the input and archives re the No. 4 T
I bought a T model 25 yrs ago for $80. picked it out of a department store rack . it had never had a scope mounted. pristine. Added the micrometer .
Went the Sarco Repro route, full No #32 kit MK1. the taps were horrible, broke easily. Freon, tamp out, retap. Replacement BSA taps from another vendor were great, worked first time. An optical collimator was very useful for tuning the front and rear pads. (no Distal Aiming Point church steeples here, flat country. The first Sarco scope lost focus after 50 MK7 surplus rounds, they replaced it no question. I have my doubts on the repro durability per the many posts here, so will be using a weaver K3 post on another mount most of the time. Can't justify the cost of an oringinal No 32.
I can't thank Peter Laidlericon and the MILSUP members enough for their experience, insightt and humor in their posts. Looking forward to a vintage sniper rifle hunt next deer season. Happy Holidays
