RCS, and jmoore, I can't reply with a quote (don't know why).

RCS- Link works for me from home and work computers, check your "firewalls". Maybe blocking it.

jmoore- Rifles from this time period in "original as manufactured" condition are like the proverbial hen's teeth. The rifle is a very nice looking rifle that appears to have many original parts (and at least one earlier part) without having any "very late" ( i.e.- WWII parts ). It IS a re-build, but not everyone can find or afford "original as manufactured" rifles. Arsenal ( as re-built ) rifles have a place in a collection right alongside "original as manufactured" ones in my opinion. I have several. A nice 1908 rilfe re-built for WWI with most all original parts but for updated items; a 1919 RIA contract re-build rifle that is in " as re-built " condition; and several from the 1930's when there was no regular production and most ALL were "re-built".
The rifle I linked to is a nice looking one regardless of it's past history. That is why I wanted folks to see it. A lot of "new guys" don't have a clue what to look for in a rifle and I thought I would put forth one with a lot of nice pics.

Mr Emri, I am still unable to view your posted "link" - I am just not that familar with the "firewalls" or with computers in general.

I even emailed (twice) one of the moderators on Jouster for help on the M1 Rifle Garand serial number list that collects a large
amount of data on the serial numbers. As I like to collect (when possible) three and four digit firearms, I wanted help to access
this list. I did not receive any help ! What I wanted to know, are there any serial numbers near M1 rifle serial number 1605 ?
If you could help me, it would be appreciated. Thanks RCS

The auction number if you are interested is, 10351506. You can go to AuctionArms.com and see it there direct. I can not help you with any M1 information, ( does no one on the M1 forum here know what you want?) but if you go to Jouster (CSP) and send a personal message to "Bodyman" , "Lemozoid", or any of several of the regular posters on the M1 forum you should get some help. They freely exchange information, but one must be specific about what it is you want to know. General questions such as "are there any serial numbers near M1 rifle serial number 1605" won't get any response because, yes, there is #1604 and #1606. Both are before and after #1605. Heck, just make a posting and title it "I have S.N. 1605". Ask your questions then. A title like that will HAVE to awaken the senses of anyone there. Early S.N.'s are always an interesting prospect.

I don't think it's all that nice, myself! Are we looking at the same Model 1903 Springfield? Maybe I've just been hanging around too many '03 collectors over the years!

Stock's been "pretty-fied", it's got two proofs on the stock, so it's been through somedegree of rework. I'm not even sure a two cross bolt stock is proper for the vintage, but I'm not a big -'03 guy, and my books are miles away.

"Jack the dog" comes up with lots of good stuff, according to those that keep track, but he also SELLS well. BE careful.

Another member here saw your request and emailed us this Excel type spreadsheet list created by member mdoerner ...

Since we're not welcome to register at CSP and our access is blocked, I can't validate it, or know whether it's what you're looking for. So, perhaps mdoerner can jump in and help identify the list, which I assume is ok to re-publish for your own benefit and the benefit of other members here.

By the way, you did check the "sticky" threads at the top of the M1 Garand/M14/M1A Rifles Forum (click here) to see if they could help you?

Hopefully, the CMP will be able to gather up the remaining rifles to offer later this year.
