    The every day question..

    This was my first rifle ever purchased. Spent my hard earned summer job money on her and a carbine. She's a Springfield Armory, serial number:
    2, 750, XXX
    which puts her birthdate around December of '44. I know from the markings she was rebarreled in '52, and her lock-bar style rear sight is correct for the birth date, but other than that, I'm lost. Paid $950 for her. You guys know what I'm going to say next.... How'd I do and tell me a little bit about my old gal concerning originality!

    I have an accurate data sheet from a 2,77 mil rifle that was purchased from an estate sale about twenty years (2.77 was from April 1944) barrel is marked 1SA 4 44, bolt is rev 12 S-A1<>, follower rev 12, bullet guide forged, op rod catch is late, follower rod is long fork, clip latch is square front, op rod is D35382 9 SA uncut, buttplate is late WW2

    trigger housing is rev 12-SA, trigger guard is milled, hammer is -5 SA safety is SA_11 stock is SA GAW rear sights have the knurled knobs type 3 lockbar

    gas cylinder wide base, lock is round top and lock screw is single slot
