Help with identification Lonbranch Mod /3
I posted this on the Curio and Relics forum before I realized this forum would be a better place
I am looking at a Longbranch Enfield that the seller says was aresenal redone to the /3 (F) FTR configuration and has the proper electro pen marks on it. The question I have is the stock has been modified from the full stock to one that ends 9 inches from the muzzle. (the butt pad is a slip on)
If this correct?

Ben: This has been sporterized. Longbranch experimented with shortened, lightened No.4's but they never went into production. When I was a kid here in Alberta my local Co-op grocery store sold these through the "CIL" catalogue, I believe. There were some "factory" sporters put out by "Essential Agencies Limited" but while these had a shortened forend, they also had the charger bridge removed.

It will have been modified to Mk.1/3 when being FTR'd at Fazackerly. They will NOT have "sporterised" it. That has been after it left UK
service.

It looks as if it can be easily restored, what going on with the butt, has it a slip on cover, is the original butt plate still present.
