Strange and mixed mauser 98

Hi,

I have got question, can You help me and tell from which mauser is the bolt? I think this could be from brazilian mauser:

But I would like to hear the experts.
Like You can see the wood stock is from second war mauser, mag also, the bolt chamber is from one example with barrel and the other things. That is a mixed up of parts and models and I would like to know is it worth anything.

It is a Gew98-type bolt, but I see no evidence that it is specifically from a Brazilian Mauser. It is not an original bolt from a K98k or other short-rifle or carbine type. The bolt handle was originally straight, and has been bent down (probably) by a gunsmith, as have the bolt handles on the sporterized examples in the links. On factory-made turn-down bolt handles the turn-down is much sharper and the knob is much closer to the recess in the stock. To get it as close as on factory-made carbine/K98k bolts the bolt handle has to be cut off and then welded back on at the appropriate angle and ground smooth - a lot of work.

A mixmaster - if it shoots well, OK, but it does not have any significant collector value. Maybe 150-200 euros.

Thank You so much for Your post! It helps me alot in my investigation about this one example. I was worrying about the price because seller wants 1000 E and it was too expensive for me for such a mixed model.
I was thinking about historical value, what do you think about changing wood stock for original, maybe the bolt and mag? Is it worth in your opinion?

Quite right to worry. 1000 Euros is a bad joke.

A misunderstanding: to do it properly (cut, weld, grind smooth) is a lot of work.
But bending the bolt handle is cheap and easy. You can see that the result is not very good.
As to when it was done, that is impossible to tell - it could have been 80 years ago - or this morning!
