Type 56 norinco sks
I found this SKS in a local pawnshop. It had a cheesy camo paint job on the stock....which I removed . I did refinish the stock . All of the numbers match...except the stock. It came with the mag shown and its original 10 round clip . Just wondering what this gun is worth in todays market.

Well, I'd be careful with that one. It sure isn't 922(r) compliant. Might want to look into getting it up to legal requirements.
It's a late model, pressed and pinned barrel. Good shooters, I love mine. If it was all original, maybe $150-$400.
With the modifications made, maybe up to $350 to the right person.

Thanks Catfish.... I'm researching it right now. I don't wanna go "tactical" with this rifle. I just want to use a scope which negates the stripper clip option...I have issues with my bifocals and open sights...LOL... so from what I've learned about the 922r requirements so far...I'll still be looking at the 10 or less rule just by adding a scope and mount . I'm more intrested in new American made replacement parts for the action...piston...etc and of course...the high cap mag option for "sport shooting" is nice if I can't use my stripper clips. For hunting though...the original 10 rounder will be just fine. Intrestingly though...It wasn't compliant when I bought it from the local pawnshop...but it WAS ugly ! I've attatched a pic of it right after bringing it home....that was one crappy "camo" paint job..LOL.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I was beginning to think either membership here was down....or the SKS was a dead topic here.

Glad I could help. Your right, that thing was a really ugly rifle with all that camo! I hope you enjoy your SKS. They're a great rifle for their intended purpose.
