1899 Carbine #287841. I thought all it needed was a handguard. The stock has been sanded down to the point that the handguard would be too fat.That looks like it was done a very long time ago. The 1901 carbine sight was swapped out for a 1901 rifle sight. It has homemade sling swivels and sling. It has a rice peep sight. The bore looks good after cleaning but the muzzle is pretty worn so it might not group at all. Not sure was going on with the front sight blade, it looks like a full shark fin. Other than that...Its great


I would need a new stock, 1901 carbine sight, 1899 lower band. If I wanted it to shoot well, I would need a new barrel.
