DSA receiver (early) on one of the Styer STG kits they first sold until they ran out. As far as I can tell everything except the receiver is original Styer and has matching numbers, too bad I couldn't have gotten hold of the original receiver. I can say this barrel is among the best I've ever seen in a rack grade service rifle. Haven't shot it as much as my L1A1, right at 500 rounds of surplus Aussie ammo which unfortunately I don't believe is around any more.
Glad I have a Glock so the Austrians can hang out with each other. Attachment 87125

Surplus Australian
Military ammunition won't be around again ever, the Govt in it's wisdom now burns and dumps any surplus so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands, US law abiding licensed Firearm owners. Blood sad as it was some of the best around.

Yep you're right. I grabbed a ton in 2002 from a place in Tennessee near Johnson City. I saw the ad and volunteered to extradite a fugitive back from around Nashville so I grabbed it in person on the county's dime which allowed me to use the shipping price to ad to my purchase. I still have 750 ( so scarce I counted them). I shoot them as if they're gold nowadays. They are outstanding in both of my FAL's.

It's actually an Austrian army surplus piece. I think at one time it was a rifle but wound up a carbine though I'm not sure, it may have always had the carbine barrel, I need to loo into that. The bipod makes it a little heavy unsupported but it's a dream prone. My former employer had a range with a 2 point 200 yard rifle range built across the pistol / shotgun range with a 24" gong suitable for the snipers to use as a target backer. Ring that sucker all day with it, good times.

AIM Surplus has Australian
surplus 7.62 ammo for sale "as we speak". It's super reasonably priced too.

You mean Malaysian ammo? I haven't seen any Aussie surplus even on the secondary market in some time, save for the occasional bando, 160 round box (or even 800-round crate) at silly prices.

I screwed up. I think it was Old Western Scrounger/N.A. Co. that had it a couple of weeks ago. AIM does have the Malaysian in stock. It's good too.

I looked on OWS' web site and they still have the Australian
7.62 ball in stock.
They also have Indian manufacture .303 Mk.7 as made in the 1960's. It's advertised as very clean but I have no experience with it. It might be worth getting some to try out since surplus .303 has pretty much dried up worldwide.
