    1903A4 Trigger Guard

My memory is failing me. Does the A4 trigger guard have a pad just behind the front mounting screw? If someone has a picture that would help.

Hey mark1, check out this thread, should have your answers and it has a few pics. The padded guards were not specific to the A4. Hope this helps.

Early A4's (Feb 43 thru about May 43) should have small bow trigger guards. About June 43 production transitioned to the large bow trigger guards. I don't know precisely when the "pad" was introduced.
During rebuilds the style of guards used was frequently mixed up with early guards reused on late rifles and vice versa.

    regards,

    Jim
