Sealed in that manner...probably the Chinese L C 52 ammo. I've heard it's decent shooting stuff, but corrosive.

There must be some markings somewhere on the can. He should show them.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Harlan,
The seller location is 45 miles from me. Right by the best hamburger place in northern calif, Val's. I have been going there since 1959. They have a 1lb Papa burger,
I only go once a month since bypass surgery, have to limit the beef intake.
I am going to email him. I'll let you know what he says.

How would the seller know it holds 1050 rds? Carbine? LC?
Like JimB said...There must be some writting on it.
Right?
Jim,
That Papa Burger's gotta be hard on that freshly operated on shoulder......
sounds like a two hander to me.

His reply:
There are no markings on the tin as far as I can tell. I bought it from Trader Sports in San Leandro in the mid 90's and have stored it ever since.
Trader's was a big gun store. They were closed for not being able to produce paperwork on some of their sales a few years ago.
I'll send him another email.
Charlie, after going to Val's for 50 years, I can eat it with my left hand.

Man, you guys made me hungry for a 'Papa Burger' and the only hamburger places near me are a Sonic and a McDonalds!
Thanks for the crate info Jim. That auction is just strange.

OK, here is my note to him, and his reply. I would think from how he worded his reply, we can guess it to be Chinese ammo. Don't know that I want to spend $300 to see the head stamp.
Bill,
So you are just taking their claim that it is .30 carbine? No way to know for sure? Or have you had others you opened? I would hate to wind up with 7.62 or something. Just wondering if it was the Chinese ammo that came into the country years ago?
Also, if I should get it, can I pick it up or could we meet somewhere for delivery? Any excuse to stop by Val's for a Papa burger.
Thanks,
Jim
RESPONSE:
Jim:
Sorry, I do not want to open it as someone may want it sealed. I bought this in the mid 90's from Trader Sports in San Leandro. In bidding I would assume it is Chinese corrosive ammo from the 50's. I prefer to ship this as I work at a mail order company. If you win, I would charge you $9.00 for shipping (remind me of this if you bid and win).
Thanks
Bill Moore
