No. 5 MK1- who made it? and a bayonet?

It appears to be a No5 Mk1 (commonly called Jungle carbine) it was manufactured at the Fazakerly factory near Liverpool England
.
Original bayonets are scarce and fetch around $200 US
There are repro bayonets out there, most are Indian copies, some fit and some dont.

The current crop of RFI bayonets from IMA seem to be quite good.

And yes, it's a WWII era rifle. They were made from 1943-47.

Allan and Steve thanks for the quick responses. What are these markings and how do you know where it was made? I wont be buying another because the ammo isnt has cheap as I would liek and I doub t it will be fun to shoot!!! BUT I am very interested in these old rifle, I have been collecting several WW2 rifles this year

ROF (F) = Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley
So no, not made in India.

I use one as a work rifle and hunting rifle. I get more fun out of it than others i use. If ammo is too dear, reload that will give more satisfaction
