M1 Carbine question

Hello everyone,
I'm new here & need a little help. On a M1 icon

carbine push safety, is the checkered face the early one or no? (anyone have an Irwin-Pederson hand guard for sale?)

Yes, the checkered face safeties were the early ones, but if its for an Irwin Pedersen, I don't believe they had checkered safeties.

IP only used the type 2 safety which has the smooth face.
