Yep , prob'ly the squad's grenader . The first picture has another early BAR , but unlike the other one , this one looks to have had the wood fore end cut down for cooling .

Picture is blurry , so I'm not positive. The butt does not have a shoulder rest , so I assumed all early . I could be wrong .

There was also an RAF operative landed on Dieppe as part of the raid with a specific task in mind, his guard had orders if it looked that their capture was imminent then he was to kill the RAF person without hesitation from memory I do not think the RAF operative knew of the executive order.
