Enfield No2 Mk1

Hello. I recently purchased this Enfield No2Mk1 with hammer spur still intact and what I believe are original grips. The pistol has matching serial numbers on all parts and generally appears original. It suffers from having had it's finish attacked at the site where the Enfield stamp is. The original owner has had it for over 15 years and he speculated someone wanted the stamp to be more visible. I would agree, but it is unfortunate. It also came with the holster. Please take a look and let me know if I am correct on this pistol. Thank you.

Would have left Enfield with a "browned" finish. ("Rust blue" in modern parlance.) The Suncorite was done later in it's service life. Good revolver!

Yes, you have a Pistol, Revolver No.2 Mk.1 made in 1934 ar the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield lock Middlesex, England. The grips are indeed original and, as has been said, at some point it has been refinished. My 1934 example has has its original blue finish. (BTW mine is black blue not brown.)

"Browning" produces a blued finish, generally. A small change in processing does thick trick.
