    My second krag

Wow I almost got taken in the carbine I was purchasing was listed by the seller as having the correct carbine rear sight I was able to enlarge the pictures and saw that the sight was in fact an 1896 rifle sight that had a C mark added to it and that the leaf did not show the 20 mark on the left side leaf.

But you didn't, so that's good enough. Sounds like deception avoided.

Upon closer inspection of the photos it appears the the serial number 77629 is a forgery, the numbers 7 & 7 appear to be larger and not of the same dies as the 629, this one would have been about 2 months younger than mine and produced in Sept.1897.the carbine I have has a 72 SN and all the numbers are consistent in shape and size, really dodged a bullet on this one

Sad. Another new post in this forum reported a serial number well outside the range of known Kragicon manufacturing.
EDIT: His leading "8" was confirmed to be a "3" so I misspoke
