That's a pretty nice looking rifle. It looks like a late war

, but not one that was made by slave labor. Really cheap pine stock with knots. No crest, no stamps, low numbers that match. I'm guessing it was made in the last few weeks of the war, perhaps at Brno? And when the Germans lost their grip, some other authority had the rifles assembled and stamped from what was in stock.
Partisans could have done it. Or maybe it was a

army capture. Or maybe a battalion commander doing some deals on the side.
Looks like it sat in a
cosmoline![icon](autolinker/images/link6.gif)
for many years and then was sold off. By whom? To whom?
This is all guesswork. Perhaps the owner can shed some light on it. Where did he buy it?
