M73 Francis Barker needs tritium tubes replaced

Hi everyone! I have a M73 in great shape but the tritium tubes are starting to fade. I have learned that Peter of TrademarkLondon has moved to Italyicon and it is too expensive to pay the tarriffs to ship my M73 there for replacement of the tritium. Any suggestions? Thanks! Lew

A really cheap way, the way we used to do it in the Army where we really needed to use these compasses, is to buy a shielded torch.

Sorry if that sounds a bit trite, but it is a fact of life.

And something else too. The Italianicon post office is so corrupted with crime and theft on a large scale that the UKicon post office will not send anything with guaranteed delivery unless it is couriered

Peter is there a modern equivalent to the Tritium I know you said something before about Tritium and it being unobtainium what do they use on modern compasses not the fancy backlit LEDS.......

Besides using a torch at night is like being 3rd on lighting up from a match.......... not that it matters now days with FLIR and all the other guff you may as well go to digging but then they ha.......

Ours still use tritium vails made by Saunders Roe on the Isle of Wight as I recall. But we don't back-load for repair if the trit fails. We just use a torch as I said. If an Army user can shield a dim light from the enemy IIR I doubt whether a civilian user should encounter any great difficulty/threat especially as he's probably wearing a trit illuminated wrist watch in any case and these show up like a bonfire on a IIW sight! Just my take on things
