Question about hi wood IMB stock

I have a stock in my QH 1,603422 carbine that a collector identified as a IBM hi wood I cut stock and not the correct stock. I have since installed another stock on the QH.

I am attempting to find out the approximate value of this IBM stock in order to sell it outright or for trading. I will post some photo of the stock taken with the QH carbine.

    Thanks RobertAttachment 100453Attachment 100452Attachment 100451Attachment 100450Attachment 100449

Selling it may be a BIG mistake! I would hold on to it for better id. I haven't seem one marked with the big 'B' after RMC!!! Beautiful stock, looks like it has never been refinished or messed with.....................

    Keep it. Great trade material.

Hi Robert, it is a very hard to find and desirable stock. RMC made for early IBM, your cartouche could be a little better but is honest. The way prices have been going on quality rare stocks lately I would say $500.00 or more to the right collector.

    Best Regards.....Frank

What era was the B NOT added to I cut RMC stocks for IBM? I've got one with no B.

Roughly about the first 18,500 RMC stocks from beginning of production would have had the Large B.

RMC ended up being a rather large supplier of stocks early on.
IIRC, I've seen RMC stocks used by QHMC, IBM, Underwood, Inland and SG.

    To Ten's Inquire:
Seeing that many early RMC stocks were unmarked for... but issued to QHMC.
Seems very possible that in the mix of RMC-B stocks that the stamped B wouldn't have always been applied. If you pay attention the B's were separately and randomly placed when they were stamped.
