Very rare part Mark, use started in the fall of 1940 with a single keystone spring, then for awhile with the Wallace- Barnes round wire then back to the keystone. Highest known original rifle with the round body follower rod and keystone spring is s/n 189209. Some collectors think there was a longer keystone spring used too.Attachment 81937Attachment 81938

Odd, no description at all other than unmarked M1 follower rod.
I guess for those who really know what the scoop is on this rod it doesn't matter.
