    Hi,
This is my load for my 6.5x55Swedish Mauser M94 carbine, Small rifle primers from CCI 200, Hornady Round160 grains, 0.251 Ball. coef. IMR 4064 /31.5 grains @ 2100fps, 3.018" AOL,5.37SD Shoots nice and deadly accurate, Start your loads with -10% less powder charge and go .5 grains increments until you are happy with your load.

Would this load also work in an AG42B Ljungman? Or is the Ljungman more suited to a 140gr load?

If you have a good look at the sights on your AG42B, you will see that the rear sight can be configured for either the older heavy roundnosed bullets or the later spitzer ones. I have successfully fired both 160gr and 140gr handloads in a Ljungman.

The 6.5x55 round is tricky to load becasue of the ong bearing surface on the bullet and the variations in barrel dimensions.

If there was ever a caliber where one has to start low and work up, this is it. I have seen a start load badly blow a primer.

I have loaded a lot of 160s in the 6.5x55, but used a much slower powder. This reduces the amount of empty space in the case and get higher velocities.

I suggest you buy a can of 4831 or RL22. Use either the CCI 200 or the Winchester standard primer to ignite a case of slow powder.

I have tried 1 load,33 grains of IMR4895 behind a Sierra 160 gr. r.n. with good results.Use caution loading for the42b,the wrong load can cause an out-of battery situation .The gas system requires a fast(4895 or R15)powder with a MV of around 2600fps.I would recommend 129 or 140 grain psp bullets only.
