Proper reloading bullet for the 1917

I've heard so many stories about the groove diameter of the 1917 barrels--.310-- .308-- somewhere in between.

I've got several 1917's with the original WWI era barrels and several with the WWII JA and HS replacement barrels.

Has anyone ever actually slugged the bore of the original 5 groove barrels? If so, what procedure did you use?

If so, any differences between the three manufacturers?

Anyone ever slugged the 2 groove JA or the 4 groove HS replacement barrels?

Anyone care to reveal which bullets they use to reload for their 1917 and how it works for them

    Thanks, Steve

Ive slugged a number of the WWI barrels,, most were in the 0.309” range. A very few were 0.310”.
If I remember correctly, the Winchester barrels were the tightest, but always more than 0.308”

The few WWII replacement barrels I slugged, measured just like WWII M1903 barrels.
