I have an SMLE No1 Mk III which has been sporterized. I wish to return it to its original military configuration. To that end I've acquired the missing parts and wood including a new forearm stock which is over sized and has a horizontal band extending the width of the rear of the stock rather than the H pattern support. Instead of butchering that forearm stock to fit, I found another replacement forearm stock with the H pattern but without the metal support. Is there an easy way to remove the support piece from the sporter forearm without butchering either the support or the stock? Thanks, DennisInformation
