    SMLE Forearm stock

I have an SMLE No1 Mk III which has been sporterized. I wish to return it to its original military configuration. To that end I've acquired the missing parts and wood including a new forearm stock which is over sized and has a horizontal band extending the width of the rear of the stock rather than the H pattern support. Instead of butchering that forearm stock to fit, I found another replacement forearm stock with the H pattern but without the metal support. Is there an easy way to remove the support piece from the sporter forearm without butchering either the support or the stock? Thanks, Dennis

Hi, Denis. I undestand from reading your post on another forum, you've successfully "transplanted" the plate into the new foreend. Was there another problem mentioned there that hasn't been sorted yet?

    No other problems

No other problems. I also had to sand quite a bit of wood for the middle band in order for it to fit around the forearm and upper handguard. Thanks, Dennis
