    Good info there Richard!

Thanks for checking in with Doug (Badger) first though Richard. I think that was classy and you showed respect by doing so. We are not in competition with any other military collector web site, even though a very few collectors in the past seemed to think so.... There are no winners or losers between info military web sites.

All of the appointed staff and the members of Milsurps.com donate their time, expertise and work for free. We have a few dedicated members too who help daily with info and some even donate a very small fee ($20 a year) just to help Badger to maintain this site's expenses and it really helps. Everything else comes out of Doug's pocket simply for his love of his love of collecting. A more dedicated gentleman I've never met, and he does it all for his love of other collectors but the site doesn't make money.

Doug pays a fortune for the services here. He has multilevels of anti-spywares, virus scans that nightly completely go through the huge amount of daily posts, photos, etc, and oter security to protect members, and HUGE professionally run servers here in Texas that he pays for on his own to keep it all working.

I've always been interested in the history of all types of old American slings, cloth and especially leather and I've used many Turner slings on my my shooter 1903's, 1903A3's, and M1icon Garand rifles because of their quality and also the originals are often so fragile, and I don't want to destroy another vintage sling. I did destroy one vintage 1907 sling that seemed in good shape, and I treated it with Pecards, but it tore in-two one day when I picked up the vintage 1903 with it's sling. Not a hard pick-up, or carrying on my shoulder. I never want to do that again! I repaired the broken sling and put it onto a pristine 1903 I'll never shoot, but I still feel guilty for destroying a vintage sling.

Keep up the good work Richard! My Turner slings are pure quality and second to none as far as I'm concerned. I hope you'll keep posting and contributing here on out site.
