KCB-70 M2 bayonet for the L1A1 Rifle. Only a few examples were hand made as samples for evaluation to try and sell these to countries using the L1A1/C1A1 rifle as an upgraded bayonet, since this like the Russian bayonets it was modeled on could cut 20,000 volt power cables and cut timber. I believe there is an example at Leeds.

All the books and info on the internet that you will find about these bayonets all state it was for the FN FAL Rifle, this is incorrect, they were made for the Commonwealth pattern rifles.

Isn't that interesting, I saw some of our trials blades and they all wanted the wire cutters. None of them were ever accepted.

Things pop up every now and then that I haven't seen. I'm wrapped that my thoughts about this "FN FAL" bayonet were correct, that it was miss-discribed for decades, mainly because in the early days a L1A1/SLR was concidered to be an FAL rifle..... As per the trials rifles and all the references in the papers.

The rifle is a Royal New Zealand Navy example, they also did disks, but Thiers are more centrally located and are a true 1 inch disk. The Airforce ones are higher on the butt and are slightly smaller.
