    SMLE mag info help

    Hi guys,

    Can anyone tell me who made this mag and when?

    Still looks like an SMLE mag modified and then numbered to it's rifle.

    The serial number and accompanying "BO" mark look like Indian markings. I have a 2A1 rifle that is serialed on the mag in nearly the same font.

    I agree that it's a MkIII mag modd'ed to fit a No.4.

    In 1941 a contract was issued to modify 100,000 No. 1 magazines for the No. 4.They are not uncommon to find.
