    The Promise

Anyone see this yet? I've seen the previews and it looks interesting from the old rifle standpoint. I'm taking my wife to see it tomorrow if all goes well. Supposed to be a love story mixed in there somewhere between the old rifles.

I shall, I'm familiar with the story between the warring factions and am interested in the slant this carries. Yes, I'll parse the firearms too...

Very good movie. Highly recommend it. Weapons look authentic but hard to ID. I believe I saw an 88 carbine with the cavalry, an 88 rifle with an infantryman, most of the infantry had Mausers, probably Turk 38's. One high level officer had a Luger, the others had revolvers.

Very good story line. You can take your wives to it and they will like it. A shot of the Goeben going through the strait which was cool. I don't know enough about the subject to know if it is accurate or not but at least the story is getting out there now. Scenery was awesome, couldn't have been in Turkeyicon though, no way they would have allowed it. Watching it and seeing all the young Germanicon advisors there I couldn't help wondering if they were learning lessons for the next war.
