So this followed me home today. A 1915 DWM Gew 98 with GG Haenel Suhl M1898 bayonet.
Bayonet and scabbard are unit marked, however they are two different units. ID help on these unit markings would be much appreciated. Bayonet was manufactured in 1901, and appears to be an early one piece wraparound handle.
Rifle is all matching save for the bolt, which matches itself. Bolt handle is bent, but at a bit of an angle, much like a 98k. It is Imperial marked, so it is a Gew98 bolt..Im not sure this wasn't meant to be bent.
When you snap that bayonet on this rifle, you have an instant lance..lol. Its an intimidating piece for sure.Information
