    I think it's a rifle, he has a bandoleer there as well. I don't recall seeing any Paratroops in Franceicon with shotguns...in any photo to date. But he has no buttstock on the M1icon T-Gun, you couldn't hide that under the sleeve.

    Could be the wooden stock for the Thompson as it looks like it may be removed from the gun, Ray

    You can just make out the Garandicon muzzle sticking out by the Field Dressing on his helmet

    Regarding the stock slung around the back of the closest para, the sling buckle looks to be a Kerr type.
