    Bill Ricca

Anyone know how Mr. Ricca is doing?
I tried sending him a e-mail through our mil surps messaging but it came back.
Just wondering if he's doing well and miss his input.

    Philly,
    Thank you very much.
Been thinking about him as it's been a few years since he'd stopped by.
Plenty of others I wish would stop by, even if it was to just let us know how they're doing.
I could list many......... All valuable assets.

Thx again, Hope your also doing well,

    Cheers
    Charlie

Bill had a few tables set up at the show in W. Springfield this 3rd and 4th of June. We spoke for some time when the show opened then things got busy. He's doing good. He does have the best stuff and it gets him a bit mad when he sees so many reproduction parts out there for good money. If you need something for U.S. military rifles, he is the man to contact.

I've been trying to contact him via email about a hatchet I recently acquired. It is an AFH US 1944. Wanted to know if he had any info on those. Haven't heard from him. I figured that with all the research he's done he might have seen something on these.

    Be American Fork and Hoe,
I have a pick ax trenching tool made by them and Diamond Calk (sp ? ) both marked US and dated 44 also. Don't remember where either company were from.

American Fork and Hoe had their headquarters in Geneva, Ohio about 6 miles from where I currently live. Their production plant was in the south end of Ashtabula Ohio around 10 miles further east. That plant was only 2 blocks from where I grew up. I knew that they made bayonets and shovels there, but not picks or hatchets. The buildings are still there although the company is long gone. I still have a few digital pics of the plant around here somewhere.
