I regularly get asked questions by those living in Free America and Canadahow we prisoners in Kalifornistan (or Californication) can have semi autos that use detachable high capacity magazines.
Any semi-auto rifle (centerfire), that has a fixed magazine of 10 rounds or less, can have all the evil features it wants. A bullet button or RAD lock makes a magazine fixed, as it needs a "tool" to remove the magazine. (a punch or bullet nose).
Evil features are:
pistol grip (either front or rear)
collapsible or folding stock
flash hider
grenade or flare launcher
A semi auto (centerfire) rifle that has none of the above evil features, you can use a detachable magazine of any capacity. They can be of greater than 10 round capacity, IF you personally possessed them legally, IN California, PRIOR to 1-1-2000. The M1Carbine, Saiga sporter, Mini-14/30, and some M1As are classic examples of guns that are "featureless." Hammerhead grips and Kydex paddles on other weapons are a way of making them featureless, as far as pistol grip. Muzzle brakes replace flash hiders, and collapsible stocks are pinned.
