No 1 and NO 4 TRigger GUards

New to site. FInally retired and going through my Enfields. Have a beautiful Savage made in 42. Lots of “S” marks and no import Mark. has a No 1 trigger guard with sling swivel. Wear is consistent. A Long Branch has no Breech Cover loop, just two spots where it looks broken off. Are both correct. I have seen new trigger guards without the loop. Are they interchangeable?.... thanks. Jim

SMLE guard is never correct on a No.4, but shouldn't be too hard to find a Savage one in similar condition.

The loop was sometimes removed so it didn't interfere with a swivel sling loop such as was used on No4(T)s and many No4s used for target work.

    Welcome aboard.

Dont get into factory correct with Enfields. Service correct as the rifle left service is correct.
