    US Navy Model 1917 Cutaway

This cutaway was salvaged from a dumpster at the Chicago Great Lakes Navy Training Facility many years ago according to the man I bought it from.

    Thumbs up

Most interesting, I would love to have one of those.

Little known was the the Seabeas were equipped with the 1917.

Out of curiousity I pulled up my copy of the SRS.
Going with a serial number starting with a 2 and ending with a 5 or 6, I found a few interesting hits:
    23715E 052318ORD DEPT INSP DIV
25736E 032619INSP OF ORDNANCE WRA CO
    208896E 051018CAMP HANCOCK (TEST)

Impossible to confirm but fun to speculate.
    Thanks for sharing!

Very interesting. Not a surprise as they started as civilians and only were inducted after pressure and necessity.
