An acquaintance owns a 1943 Long Branch. The inside surface of the buttplate's trapdoor bears a cast-in marking on the inside surface.
It is basically a circle with points at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock, inside of which the letters P and C are intertwined.

Does anybody have an idea on who made this buttplate?
