Hi, I have a 1902 NZ L.E.C. MK1 that I would like to sell as I am doing some cowboy action shooting. Any ideas to it's value?

I am sure you know there were only 1500 of these produced. Surely someone could give me a ball park figure?
This one is in good condition, was handed to police by a Maori guy in Wanganui some years back. Still shoots ok as well.

Hi Gregmk2,

A NZ carbine sold in an Antique Arms Auction in Christchurch a week or so ago for $2100, don`t know what condition it was in. Hope that helps.
There is also one for sale on Trademe at present, no bids as yet.

Greg, while it is true that only 1,500 of these were produced, they are, surprisingly, not all that collectable. Their survival rate is very high. There fall into the scarcity range of the RIC carbine. When they sell on the US on-line auctions, they generally go for USD850 or thereabouts. See this price guide:
